Iran Apple trends from 2021 to the beginning of 2022

Iran apple market in 2022.
Iran fresh apple market has faced many catastrophic scenarios because of various reasons. in 2021-2022,  because of traceable toxic residues which was a result of importing low-quality pesticides with long-lasting PHI period from China, some countries such as India and Russia banned importing vegetables and later apples from Iran. The decision of not importing by these historical Iran’s apple customers shocked the market and the price of apple abated and most of the farmers and producers faced big losses just in a few months after the announcement of the policy.
Iran is unable to import high quality and standard pesticides and fertilizers from reputable companies.

sanctions have even worsened the situation. From the beginning of 2021 to the end of harvesting the autumn varieties just a few months before the new year, the Iran apple market was quite a bit volatile. Late summer varieties such as Gala and Dorang was on break-even point and some days downwardly. Quality was not also a privilege for this year’s products.  The lower quality product was obviously apparent this year. Some reasons for lower quality fruits are global warming which caused milder winters in the apple cultivator regions. as a result of that, the need for minimum cold dormancy time does occur last year and apple trees were faced with systematical problems.
Also, the prices of autumn varieties such as g
Golden Delicious and Red Delicious apples were not satisfying because of soil degradation and soil nutrient deficiency.
To cope with this, We in Ebrahimi Apple Orchard planned to start a short term and mid-term transformation to increase nutrients in the soil in our orchards with sustainable fertigation and organic nutrients.
At the end of 2021, we caved another agricultural pool to manage water consumption. We planned to change daytime irrigation to mid-nigh times to minimize evaporation and maximize water absorption to produce bigger and juicy fruits.
Another decision that came into action was renovating inefficient and obsolesced tubes. 4cm tubes replaced by 9cm, 7.5cm, and minimum 6cm diameter tubes. also, double inter-orchard irrigation tubes and sprinkles.
Because of the global attention to sustainable farming, we eliminated nitrate fertilizers and replaced them with elemental sulfur-based fertilizers such as Iron sulfate, phosphate, potassium sulphate and micronutrients.
The use of organic Manure increased 500% as an organic solution to rise the amount of organic soils matter in the soil and increase it from 0.2% to 5%.
